daddy, i’m trying
by Misty Dawn
and The Father asked his son, “son, please set up the ladder for me while I go get our materials.” as the boy tried, he struggled. he never considered giving up, but his strength just wasn’t enough. he’d seen his Father do it before. many times. he knew how. this frustrated him even more.
his Father returned, saying “son, try again.”
the boy continued to try.
“son, you’re not using all your strength.”
“daddy, i’m trying. i really am.”
“i promise, i’m using all my strength.”
“no son, you’re not,” replied his Father.
“you haven’t asked me to help you.”
“My grace is sufficient for you son.”
